Tears (Crying in Play)
Core Dynamics & Roles Psychological
Crying during a scene is a common and complex response. It can be "play tears" (from intense sensation or emotion) or "real tears" (distress). It's vital for a Dominant to learn the difference.
In practice
- Short version
- An emotional response (crying) during a kink scene.
- Good to know
- This is a key consent concept. **Must** include a guide: Crying is *not* a safeword. A Dominant must check in immediately ("Are these good tears?" "Do you need to stop?"). A submissive must still use their safeword if they are in real distress.
